Do American universities just have no grading criteria at all, or exam boards, or any rules whatsoever
It seems like the marker can give whatever grade they want and no one has to approve it
I mean, almost? You have to fill out the right paperwork and set a syllabus that the school can look over but it often comes down to the professors opinions Especially in writing based courses. This means while you may find a prof. With a sense of humor every so often or one who is reasonable in their discretion you also end up with professors who will fail you if you miss a test because you were in the hospital.
Depending on the school it can also be a nightmare to contest a grade or as in that memorable case where a woman in labor had to take her entire mid term with the medical team out of the room or the professor would fail her and the school stood by his decision.

Rain (any pronouns) is a genderfluid model & posts a lot about how their ability to “pass” as either a man or a woman influences them, and shows off the absurdity of double standards such as mens vs womens olympic uniforms and societal treatment based on perceived gender
They’re also incredibly patient with transphobes and other bigots, and much more so than most of us can manage and I think it’s amazing that they put up with what people say & do

Do not for the love of god group me in with these children that think this phrase is okay. As a millennial I personally think the phrase is immature and shows that younger people today don’t like being told they are wrong or when a person older than them doesn’t listen to them. Go fight in the war or live through the depression than come back and cry to me about how older people don’t listen to you. Maybe it’s for this reason.
